Shaun McLaughlin

Born in Glasgow, Shaun trained at The Dance School of Scotland and furthered his education at Elmhurst School for Dance where he trained with Errol Pickford under the directorship of Desmond Kelly. He performed with Birmingham Royal Ballet in works by David Bintley, Peter Wright, Kenneth Macmillan, Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine and John Cranko. Shaun then joined The Croatian National Ballet and was later promoted to soloist, dancing in all of the company's major classical repertoire. With a keen interest in teaching, Shaun started teaching company class for The Croatian National Ballet and was later invited to teach The Macedonian National Ballet and The State Ballet of Novosibirsk. Upon returning home, Shaun gained his Diploma in Dance Education and has taught at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, Elmhurst Ballet School, KSDance, London Studio Centre and is currently Artistic Coordinator of Malvern Ballet Seminars.

Shaun is one of Central’s second year ballet tutors, where he teaches ballet, coaching and pas de deux. He also works with the first and third-year students, teaching their ballet, coaching and pas de deux classes.
