Inclusivity and Student Support

When you join Central, you join a family. Central School of Ballet is a small school with up to just 50 students per year. This means that the staff at Central know each and every student by name. If you are struggling at any time during your training, all of your tutors and the wider staff team are there to support you.

Find out more below about the support systems in place at Central and how we continuously work towards creating an inclusive environment.

On this page you will find our EDI Policy statement, the Inclusivity Policies and a Guide to Student Support.

Learning Support

Weekly Classes

The Head of Studies and Learning Development Manager teach weekly contextual studies classes to guide students in developing writing and research skills, as well as the ability to reflect on their practical training.

1:1 Tutorials

Students can contact the Head of Studies and Learning Development Manager with any questions, or for support with their contextual studies. We care about students feeling able to progress confidently through their contextual work, and can guide students via e-mail or through bespoke 1:1 support tutorials.

Learning Resources

Students can access a variety of learning resources throughout their course, including a library and digital learning platform. We are able to support you in finding the right resources to contribute to your progression in practical training and preparation for employment.

Learning Differences

Students requiring additional learning guidance, or with specific learning differences, are supported to complete diagnostic assessments and apply for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). This process may entitle them to additional 1:1 support with a specialist tutor, and assistive software.

Inclusivity and Student Support

Central School of Ballet seeks to foster an inclusive environment for the entire School community. A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is fundamental to our core values, ensuring our success as a world-class provider of dance training with a positive and supportive culture, where all staff and students feel empowered and respected.
