Central requires details from at least one parent/guardian per applicant. You may also provide details of an additional parent/guardian below.

Central welcomes applications from dancers with disabilities and learning differences. We offer places based on talent in dance and potential to flourish within the rigorous demands of the course, and to prepare for a successful career in dance.

To meet your needs during the admissions process (and, if successful, throughout your course of study), you are encouraged to disclose any disability in the box below (e.g dyslexia, a physical, sensory, cognitive or mental health condition). All information will be treated as strictly confidential.

Successful applicants with a disability may be eligible for further support from the Student Loans Company. Members of Central’s Higher Education team will support you with this process.

In order to fully support you during your time at Central, the following questions ask for further details about your medical history. Please provide any details you feel are relevant and are comfortable with disclosing at this time.

Successful applicants who accept their place will be required to provide a certificate of health from a doctor (e.g local GP).
Successful applicants who have accepted their place from Central are required to undergo an orthopaedic screening by the medical team, at the beginning of the course. Artistic staff may also be part of this process. The aim of the orthopaedic screening is for us to collect information that will facilitate your training and maximise your health and fitness throughout the course.

All applicants are required to upload a recent headshot. Professional headshots are not necessary, images can be taken on a mobile device.

Please ensure your image:

• Is in portrait orientation
• Is taken within the last 6 months
• Is in front of plain background (ideally white)
• Shows your full face clearly e.g. hair tied back
• Shows head and shoulders clearly
• File is in a .jpg or .png format

You are required to submit a personal statement to support your application. Your personal statement should reflect who you are as a person; please submit this statement in the format which feels most accessible to you.

All Applicants
Please give a brief statement about:

• why you want to train at Central School of Ballet
• any training or performance highlights (e.g. school/college shows, performances you’ve seen, awards and scholarships).

In addition to the above, please provide information about experience in any of the following areas:

• Choreography
• Dance Improvisation
• Dance History
• Anatomy
• Nutrition
• Injury Prevention
• Pilates
• Goal Setting
• Supplementary Training (i.e. Exercise Programmes)
