Dance Classes and Courses

Central offers children  and adults of all ages the opportunity to participate in dance classes and courses. The Junior School runs weekly classes after school to develop flexibility, musicality, coordination, balance, and stamina. Teenagers who have further developed their skills and a passion for dance may audition for the Associate Programme, specifically designed for those considering full-time vocational dance training aged 16. Adults are offered a range of drop-in adult dance classes in the evenings and on Sundays for fitness, to develop dance skills and general wellbeing.

Adult Dance Classes (18+ years)

Central’s adult dance classes provide a fun and satisfying way to improve muscle tone, flexibility, and co-ordination as well as helping to improve dance technique. All classes are open to all genders age 18+, subject to dance and skills ability.

Junior School (3-16 years)

The Junior Programme uses an in-house syllabus across 11 levels in line with academic school years and strives to provide exceptional standards of Ballet tuition whilst emphasising an open and inclusive community ethos.

Junior Associate Programme (8-11 years)

Central’s Junior Associate Programme is a pre-vocational programme of Saturday classes for those aiming for professional dance training, for students aged between 8 and 11 years.

Associate Programme (11-16 years)

Central’s Associate Programme is a pre-vocational programme of Saturday classes for those aiming for professional dance training, for students aged between 11 and 16 years (academic years 7 to 11).

Short Courses (4-16 years)

Central runs a regular programme of one day dance courses for children and teenagers of different abilities, skills, and interest. There are a range of one day courses during February and May half terms, plus Dance Days which run throughout the year at several locations. Dance Days are for aspiring dancers looking to audition for full-time training.

Ballet Intensives (11-16 years)

Ballet Intensives are designed for dancers aged 11 – 16 who are looking to receive more in depth training with Central’s teaching faculty. In October half term, aspiring dancers can join Central for an audition preparation course, specifically designed to prepare student’s for vocational auditions and to ensure they feel confident to perform their best. At Easter, dancers can join Central’s Spring Course to experience life in a full time vocational ballet school. There are also one week and two week courses available in the summer for both UK and international dancers.
