Applications Open for Assisted Application Scheme – 2025 Entry

9 September 2024

Kate Coyne, Artistic Director and Training Lead

“I am delighted that applications for our Assisted Application Scheme are now open for dancers wishing to be considered for our full-time degree courses next September.
The aim of the scheme is to ensure a fair and accessible audition process that provides an additional layer of support to students who may need it, whether that be with the application process or the audition and interview. It is designed to ensure that barriers do not limit the ability of talented dancers in applying to our courses, or from achieving a career in dance and performance. We introduced the scheme for the first time last year and after a successful first year of delivery, I am delighted we are able to continue offering this support to eligible students.

Some of the support we were able to offer last year included:

  • Online meetings with staff members who can offer guidance and advice on our application and audition process
  • Support with writing your personal statement
  • Application fee waivers
  • Opportunity to view the audition room and relevant spaces before your audition begins
  • Potential free place to one of our Dance Days

We know it can feel difficult to ask for help and auditioning for full-time training can feel stressful at the best of times, so we want to make that process easier for students and their families, who may really benefit from some extra support. We hope to remove any surprises within our audition process, hopefully allowing you to feel as comfortable as you can, helping you be the best version of yourself throughout the audition process.

I encourage anyone wanting to audition for Central to head over to our Assisted Application Scheme page to find out if they are eligible for the scheme, and if you are, please do apply.

Applications for our Undergraduate Courses starting in September 2025 open on 1st October 2024 so it would be advantageous to apply for the scheme before this, to ensure you have the support in place before applying to our courses.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully supporting you in the coming months.”
